3. Scenario Based Questions

  • 3.1 - A customer comes into the shop and looks to be quite agitated, they are bothering staff and customers complaining that he disagrees with the costs of the services we provide. How would you go about handing this situation?
    • I would stay calm and professional, listen to the customer’s concerns without interrupting, and try to understand why they are upset. I would explain the pricing respectfully and make sure they understand what services are included. If possible, I would offer alternative options or suggest cheaper services that fit their budget. My goal would be to de-escalate the situation, keep the interaction respectful, and ensure the customer leaves feeling heard, even if they still disagree with the prices.
3.2 - You see a colleague standing around and doing nothing for an extended period of time, refusing to help out with basic work. What would you do?
    • I would first approach the colleague respectfully and ask if they need help or if something is wrong. Sometimes there may be a reason they are not working. If they continue refusing to help without a valid reason, I would continue doing my own duties professionally and report the issue to a supervisor or higher staff member rather than causing drama or arguments in the workplace.
3.3 - If you caught a coworker breaking policy, what would be the correct course of action?
    • If I caught a coworker breaking policy, I would not ignore it. Depending on the situation, I would either remind them of the correct policy or report it to higher management/staff if it was serious. Policies exist to keep the workplace fair and professional, so it is important to handle the situation maturely and through the proper chain of command instead of confronting them aggressively.
