After some time out, I came back wanting to do things different and get my money the proper way. I’ve always been into cars and working with my hands, so mechanics just feels like the right lane for me. I’m ready to put the work in, learn what I need to, and build something solid for myself. I'm currently working at DCC and i'm currently enjoying meeting new people and gaining new relationships but i'm ready to take on a another challenge alongside this.
2. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2.1 Why do you want to work at Bayview Auto Center? (Minimum 50 words):
    • I'm trying to build an honest life for myself and be around people who are focused on real work. Since coming back to the city i'm trying to build a good relationship with people and earn a honest living in the process. Plus cars & bikes is a strong passion of mine.
2.2 Why should we hire you? (Minimum 100 words):
    • I want to work at Bayview Auto Center because I'm trying to leave my old life behind and do things the right way. I used to get caught up in the wrong situations and with the wrong crowd. But since returning, I have found a old passion of mine, working on cars. Seeing the joy on someones new pimped up ride, and even something as simple as a relieved customer that there once unusable vehicle is now good to ride and enjoy. There's something about working on cars & bikes that just keeps the mind alive. Feels like a good fit to me. Hope it does to you also.
2.3 What qualities will you bring to Bayview Auto Center?
    • I bring loyalty & respect to customers, people and staff. I work consistently and i'm not afraid to put in a bit of graft to get the job done. Although i'm limited in mechanic experience on other peoples cars. I work on my own frequently and i'm a quick learner when it comes to something I enjoy.

3. SCENARIO QUESTIONS
  • 3.1 There is a long line of customers all waiting for service and you are the only mechanic on duty, how do you handle this situation?
    • If i'm the only person on shift and the wait time is long, i'll keep it real and let the customers know. I'm straight to the point but I'll keep it professional. I won't rush someones car just for it to effect the quality of the work i'm doing. It's a process and can take time to get something right. I'll let them know of a wait time and i'm working as quickly as I can.
3.2 A customer is not happy with the labor fee and does not want to pay for it. Your colleague has already explained that this fee is mandatory, but they still argue the charge. What would you do?
    • If a customer refuses to pay, I’d keep it calm and not turn it into a scene. I’d explain to them straight that the labour fee is part of the work and applies to everyone, no exceptions. No point getting heated over it. If they still won’t budge, I’d call it up to management and let them handle it from there. I’m not trying to argue or lose the shop money, just keep things moving and stay professional about it.
3.3 A customer is being disrespectful towards one of your colleagues and starts to threaten them. What would you do?
    • If a customer starts disrespecting or threatening my colleague, i'll step in straight away. I'm not one for seeing a colleague disrespected especially if there's no harm done. I'd inform a manager if there's one available and if it gets really out of hand, i'd do what I have always done and ensure as best I can that no one is harmed, and i'd even call the police if I really had to.
